Wyoming Worker’s Compensation- Fast Facts
Filing a Worker’s Compensation Claim in Wyoming:

All claims will need to be supported by medical evidence and other related documentation. Each individual making a claim will receive a claim number which must be displayed in the correct spot on all documentation. Medical expenses must be submitted directly from the medical service provider, not by the employee or the employer. The employee must cooperate with the Worker's Safety and Compensation Division in their investigation and provide all requested documentation to process the claim.

Choice of Physician: Employee makes the initial choice of physician.

Attorney Fees Permitted: Determined on an individual case basis.

Wyoming Worker’s Compensation Benefits:
Any treatment or care, including hospitalization, directly related to the work related injury. Reimbursement for injured workers' travel expenses to seek medical treatment is also available.

To partially reimburse an injured worker for lost wages if temporarily not able to return to work. Benefits are payable monthly at two thirds of the injured worker's actual monthly earnings, not to exceed the statewide average monthly wage at the time of the injury.

Compensation for the permanent loss of use or actual loss of a body part or sense. Payment of impairment awards is monthly until the award is depleted.

Compensation available when an injury prevents the worker from earning a comparable or higher wage than they were earning at the time of injury..

Compensation for qualified injured workers for rehabilitation services which will comparably restore their earning power. Eligible workers would have to select this award instead of the Permanent Disability Award.

Compensation payable to an injured worker that has sustained a work related injury so severe that the injured worker is permanently incapacitated and unable to perform work at any gainful occupation.

Compensation payable to the spouse and dependents of a worker that dies due to a work related injury.

Payments for funeral and related expenses for a worker that dies due to a work related injury.

Wyoming Worker’s Compensation Waiting Period:
The waiting period for compensation benefits after injury is 3 days for temporary total disability only.

Compensation is retroactive if disability continues for more than 8 days from the date of injury.
